The successful candidate will be responsible for design and development of various structural components, subsystems and mechanisms for simulators to support the validation and optimization of mechanical components and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and engineering of simulator structural components, subsystems and mechanisms
- Create manufacturing data pack with 3D and 2D
- Design verification through analytical calculations and analysis as appropriate based on the requirements
- Creation of design justifications documents, testing procedures, assembly, user and maintenance instructions documents
- Ownership of design reviews – Requirements review, PDR, CDR
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams.
- Optimize designs based on simulation results to improve performance, durability, and manufacturability.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of design issues
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Implementation of DFM, DTC, DFA and DFR during the design
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong understanding of machine design
- Proven experience in structural, mechanical and mechanisms in the flight simulator
- Structural analysis (Statics and dynamics):
- Ability to assess structural strength, stiffness, fatigue, vibration behavior.
- Familiarity with FEA tools for frame, cockpit, brackets, mounts, and motion-system components
- Sizing and selections calculations of components like motors, gearboxes, bearings, and transmission systems
- Kinematics and dynamics:
- Mechanism design
- Linkages, joints, actuators
- Rigid-body dynamics
- Motion envelope and travel analysis
- Load path understanding
- Knowledge of Hydraulics, pneumatics, electromechanical actuation, linear guides, ball screws

- Working experience with Creo for Detailed part design, assemblies, manufacturing drawings
- Working experience with ISO standard GPS and Tolerance stack up
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Good knowledge of metals, composites, plastics, and sheet metal
