Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Test Facility Engineer (Swing) based out of Sunnyvale, CA.
What you’ll get to do:
Perform life cycle and root cause failure analysis of steam facility equipment, including boilers, cooling towers, condensers, and other high-temperature and high-pressure systems.
Research, plan, design, and develop new systems and operating profiles to increase test facility efficiency.
Perform thermal and heat transfer analysis on various test facility systems and components. -
Support testing of the main propulsion and power generation equipment.
Prepare technical reports and present to Test Facility Engineering Management.
Prepare proposals, statement of work, project planning, and coordinate operator/contractor work assignments.
Responsible for Test Facility Operational Procedures to ensure safe operations and technical accuracy.
Maintain and develop preventative maintenance procedures and corrective maintenance planning for the overhaul and repair of systems and components.
Develop and maintain program-specific Pre and Post Test checklists.

Basic Qualifications Principal Test Facility Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and a minimum of 5 years of mechanical and/or electrical engineering work experience; Master’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years of mechanical and/or electrical engineering work experience.
Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Proven Competency in the operation of propulsion and power plant machinery; Fluid and Thermodynamic Systems experience.
Project Management Acuity and MS Office competency.
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications Principal Test Facility Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in STEM in Mechanical Engineering.
Test Facility and/or Power Generation/Chemical Facility operational experience.
FEA modeling experience.
Design Software Acuity (AutoCAD, Cero, Solidworks, or equivalent).

Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
