About the Role
In this role, you will help to shape and drive Harman’s cloud-based automotive software development toolchains as part of Harman’s broader software products portfolio.
You will lead to create and implement backend solution for CQuence Loop. In this role you will design, code and work with the team in defining the overall architecture and implementation for CQuence Loop backend services.
You will be responsible for the continued transformation of HARMAN automotive into a leading tech player in software. You are an inspiring leader for our global team and your global peers, who shows both the technical and business acumen to rapidly grow our product family and its corresponding business in a rapidly growing eco-system.
Your Team: You will not have any direct reports.
What You Will Do
- Design and implement a cloud based virtual development platform for automotive software development.
- Own and deliver the Server backend solution for cloud based virtual development platform
- Be up to date on latest cloud technologies and automotive industry trends. Should be able to adapt quickly to new technologies.
- Do code reviews, design reviews and technically guide the team for cloud development.
- Work collaboratively with the rest of the engineering organization to influence overall system architecture and design.
- Work with our architecture team to define the architecture/design and to ensure they are consistent with Cloud best practices and are reasonable to implement from a technical perspective.
- Think out of the box when it comes to defining unique ways users can use virtual development platform for Automotive.
- Should be capable of leading and mentoring junior developers in the team.
- Implement the deployment as infrastructure as code.
- identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’
- Monitoring system performance and capacity utilization
- Work collaboratively with the rest of the engineering organization to influence overall system architecture and design.
- Be capable of developing using an agile methodology, providing daily reviews of code and builds.
What You Need to Be Successful
- We need an expert who have gone through full cycle of SaaS product development and has immense experience in creating and rolling out multiple SaaS applications from scratch to production with scale.
- CQuence Loop is going to be used by customers and we need to have all security, scalability, availability features in place.
- At least 10 year experience in building Java services for cloud backend.
- Expert at defining and implementing API standards.
- Individual contributor for Cloud Backend. Experience in Container orchestration (Kubernetes), Microservices, Cloud Networking, Disaster recovery, Load balancing, high availability. Worked in multiple clouds like AWS, GCP and has gone through making production ready of multiple SaaS applications.
- At least 10 year experience in cloud backend and expertise in Virtualization, Container orchestration (Kubernetes/openshift), SOA, Microservices, Cloud Networking, Disaster recovery and Load balancing, SLAs.
- Experience working with AWS/Google public cloud.
- GIT, Gerrit, github, Jenkins, Travis, Puppet, Chef, and Ansible experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and awareness of DevOps and Agile principles.
- Expertise in scripting languages like python, Ruby
- Must bring top-notch management skills and a deep appreciation of development tools, techniques, systems, and solutions.
- Ability to solve the problem independently.
- Think out of the box when it comes to defining unique ways users can use virtual development platform for Automotive.
- Should be capable of leading and mentoring junior developers in the team.
- Demonstrate experience owning a feature from requirements analysis through to general availability in market. Should be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
Bonus Points if You Have
- Experience in building automotive SaaS applications.
- Experience in building scalable SaaS applications with large number of users.
- Good knowledge of the cloud infrastructure and operations.
