What You Will Do:
- Provide daily tactical support for the production unit.
- Troubleshoot problems and recommend appropriate actions.
- Strive to constantly improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
- Ownership of cycle time data accuracy and improvement/reduction.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues which arise during production operation. Performs investigation studies, trial production runs and provide recommendations.
- Optimize processes systems to assure that housekeeping and safety standards are maintained in accordance with company standards.
- Perform and maintain Management of Change (MOC) Process
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives (CI) to unlock throughput and employee engagement.
- Participate on the plant environmental/compliance team and support safety initiatives as appropriate.
- Assist with design reviews and PHAs where critical thinking is required.
- Manage Product Set-Ups and Scale Ups from R&D and Marketing.
- Develops goals, action plans and timelines for the engineer project completion.
- Ensure that all design and project work comply with applicable legislation, accepted engineering codes and standards and Company policies and standards.
- Understands the safety, environmental and PSM procedures to ensure that the site is in compliance and that all new projects meet the needed requirements.
- Lead various cost savings projects/initiatives to deliver conversion cost targets.
- Coordinates projects to effect timely, cost-effective, and safe completion within set quality standards.
- Facilitates the implementation of new policies or procedures.
- Multi-task both day-to-day batch operations support and long-term support of the plant with assigned projects.
- Must be comfortable working on individual projects, as well as leading or participating in cross-functional teams.
- Oversees capital budget and ensures projects are spending to forecast. Interfaces with corporate engineering to align capital spending metrics.
- Provides assistance or management, including start-up, as dictated by project demands.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 year experience in a technical role in a chemical plant environment

Preferred Skills, Abilities, Knowledge:
- Minimum of 5 year's experience with Batch Chemical Manufacturing, Reaction Chemistry
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
- Strengths: Action-oriented, Collaborates, Communicates effectively, Plans and Aligns, Drives Results
- Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels and teams of the organization, our customers and third parties.
- Ability to read, understand and create technical drawings such as PFDs, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and loop diagrams.
- Knowledge and experience of relevant Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations
- Experience in Data Analysis and Data visualization (PowerBI)
- Project management and contractor management experience
- Strong grasp of Management of Change processes
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Excellent mathematics and IT skills
- Previous experience with maintenance planning systems (SAP)
