EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer I - Network/Systems in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.
Responsibilities:
- Define, design, and administer network systems used for data communications and recommend improvements to ensure operation of the company's high-traffic, business-critical, internet production environment.
- Manage the load configuration of a central data communication processor. Propose and implement network system enhancement that will improve the performance and reliability of the network system.
- Apply capacity planning to business recommendations. Address performance analysis, scalability, and service architecture/database administration issues.
- Coordinate equipment orders, including terminals, cable installation, as well as upgrading, monitoring, testing, and servicing the database/systems.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related technical field plus 5 years of experience in network and system administration experience.
- Experience must include the following (which may have been gained concurrently): Supporting network protocols, systems and products (Cisco, F5, HP, Dell) SAP configuration, implementation, and support - 5 years; Layer 2 and layer 3 routing, and WAN related technology, including EIGRP, BGP, OSPF VRFs, MPLS, HSRP - 5 years; Load balancers, firewalls, wireless technologies, and security - 3 years; Networking monitoring tools such as HP Enterprise Management tools-set, SPLUNK, Cisco DNA/ISE, and TACACS - 1 year
The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $138,923.00 - $138,923.00
