About the role
You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop the future HARMAN automotive products and provide technical leadership and mentoring to functional safety engineers within projects and across the global safety community. You bring in your passion and experience to meet the challenging aspects of robustness and functional safety properties to HARMAN domain controller, display and connectivity solutions.
What You Will Do
Elicit, document and review for functional safety requirements (ASIL) with the customer and other engineering disciplines in line with the architectural definition
Determine the safety performance and execute safety analyses according to the target architecture
Consider machine learning aspects for Functional Safety requirements and methods
Consider and align Functional Safety needs with Cyber-Security solutions
Technically coordinate and mentor functional safety engineers within assigned projects, ensuring high-quality safety deliverables and technical consistency.
Derive and align the necessary verification and validation activities with internal and external partners
Conduct Safety Management for platform and customer application projects, prepare and report the functional safety status
Define and coordinate measures to ensure the needed safety properties according to product targets
Take the drive and leadership to continuously improve engineering workflows based on state-of-the-art tools for Safety & Cyber-Security in relation to the framework, including a scalable Safety mechanism portfolio
Develop Safety concept strategies for future products,s starting from the definition of system safety needs of a vehicle manufacturer
Drive and lead Safety integration concepts with development partners from Harman and evaluate safety capabilities of complex supply parts based on “Assumption of Use”
Review and guide safety analyses, safety concepts, and customer-facing safety work products prepared by less experienced engineers
What You Need
Master's or bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent
Mature experience in building and maintaining customer and supplier relationships
Strong technical leadership capabilities
Proven team player to effectively work in a global environment with all levels of a global matrixed organisation
Profound on safety-critical systems and related standards (SOTIF & ISO26262)
Profound knowledge in Systems-Theoretic-Process-Analysis, Safety Analysis, Functional Safety analysis, FTA, FMEDA, FMEA, Hazard and Risk Analysis, etc., Safety for Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Experience and profound knowledge of multimodal sensor data handling for perception and fusion principles
Proven experience in technical coordination and coaching functional safety engineers within safety-critical projects.
Profound understanding of model-based development and state-of-the-art tools for Safety & Cyber-Security
Methodical, structured work style and experienced in translating strategies into actionable plans
The capability of simultaneous handling of multiple projects and initiatives, and executing to completion
Excellent communication, presentation & interpersonal skills
What is Nice to Have
Electrical product design or engineering experience
Experience of failure analysis for an electrical product
Experience in pilot factory process & quality management
Experience in Product life cycle management: Development, Operation, Service or Maintenance
Proven experience in project management and resource management skills
Experience in system/hardware/software level product development
Proven experience in the development of products in compliance with the standard ASPICE
Hands-on experience in implementing ASIL-compliant systems in accordance with ISO26262
Experience with safety analysis (e.g., FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, HAZOP, DFA-CCFA)
Knowledge of FUSA qualification on software tools, components and evaluation of hardware components
Understand the requirements, architecture, design and methodologies in the field of the automotive domain
