Position Overview
As a Layout Build Engineer within the HBM organization in Guadalajara, Mexico, you will develop and integrate analog, mixed-signal, and custom digital layouts for advanced memory solutions. You will support physical build implementation, verification, and project execution while collaborating with global engineering teams to deliver high-quality layouts on schedule. This role contributes directly to AI-enabled and high-performance computing products through efficient and reliable layout development.
Responsibilities

• Develop analog, mixed-signal, custom digital block layouts, and support full-chip integration activities.
• Perform layout verification activities, including Build Rule Check (DRC), Layout Versus Schematic (LVS), antenna checks, quality reviews, and documentation.
• Deliver block-level layout builds on schedule while meeting established quality requirements.
• Lead layout planning, area and schedule estimation, task delegation, and execution across multiple concurrent projects.
• Work together with international engineering groups to address technical issues and guarantee project success.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Master of Technology in Electronics Engineering, VLSI Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in analog and custom layout development using advanced CMOS technologies, including planar and FinFET process nodes.
• Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso Layout Editor (VLE/VXL) and Mentor Graphics Calibre for DRC and LVS verification.
• Hands-on experience developing layouts for critical analog blocks such as phase-locked loops (PLL), analog-to-digital converters (ADC), digital-to-analog converters (DAC), low-dropout regulators (LDO), bandgap references, charge pumps, comparators, differential amplifiers, current mirrors, and related circuits.
• Strong understanding of analog layout fundamentals, including matching, electromigration, latch-up prevention, coupling, crosstalk, IR drop, parasitic effects, and the impact of layout on circuit performance, power, capacitance, and area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting multiple semiconductor tape-outs.
• Experience leading multiple layout projects while ensuring quality reviews throughout the layout development lifecycle.
• Strong problem-solving capability in custom layout physical verification and debugging.
• Ability to build layout constraints and implement high-quality layout solutions for complex designs.
• Experience working effectively with geographically distributed engineering teams.
