What We Offer

We are seeking a hands-on Principal Electronics Engineer to join our Brisbane-based hardware team. In this role, you will act as a technical authority, driving high-quality hardware design and guiding the team through complex technical challenges and critical engineering decisions. You will play a key role in developing next-generation network resilience products, with a focus on chip-down SoC design and network-based systems, while mentoring and supporting a team of experienced engineers.


What You Will Do

  • Lead the design and validation of complex electronic systems, including chip-down ARM and x86 SoCs, network switches, and high-speed interfaces
  • Review and guide schematics, PCB layouts, and component selection with a focus on reliability, compliance, and cost optimization
  • Provide technical leadership during board bring-up, validation, signal integrity analysis, and pre-compliance activities
  • Act as a technical mentor to the hardware engineering team, supporting growth and development of senior engineers
  • Support root-cause analysis and resolution of hardware issues from prototype through production
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and documentation
  • Provide guidance on design decisions, trade-offs, and best practices to ensure high-quality outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with firmware, software, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless system integration
  • Partner with product management, engineering leadership and operations on feasibility, planning, and execution of development work

 

Who You Are and What You Bring

  • 10+ years of industry experience in electronics design
  • Proven track record of delivering production-grade hardware from concept through manufacturing
  • Strong experience in digital circuit design, including chip-down SoC designs and high-speed interfaces
  • Experience working on network-oriented or embedded hardware systems (e.g. switches, routers, or similar)
  • Deep understanding of DFM, DFT, signal integrity, power integrity, thermal considerations, and EMI/EMC
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to review, guide, and contribute to detailed engineering work
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to guide and influence technical decisions
  • Experience mentoring and supporting engineers in a collaborative team environment
  • Comfortable working in agile development environments 

Desired But Not Required

  • Experience with Altium Designer
  • Experience with FPGAs, cellular modules or RF systems.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance testing and EMC best practices
  • Experience with embedded Linux platforms and board-level debugging
  • Experience with simulation tools for signal integrity, power integrity, thermal, or EMC analysis
