Summary Generated by Built In

Join our fast‑paced and passionate team as a Principal Electrical Engineer (Level 5). In this role, you will shape the technical direction of our electrical and RF systems as we scale. You’ll make major architectural decisions, guide engineering practices, and drive execution across multidisciplinary teams. This position is ideal for a highly experienced engineer who thrives in ambiguity, leads with initiative, and elevates the technical bar for the entire organization.

You will collaborate closely with leadership, influence product strategy, and mentor engineers across the team. Your work will directly impact our roadmap, reliability, and long‑term scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership across electrical and RF design efforts, setting design standards, methodologies, and review practices.
  • Lead complex engineering programs from concept through production, including requirements definition, architecture development, risk assessment, and cross‑functional alignment.
  • Drive system‑level decision‑making, ensuring designs meet performance, manufacturability, reliability, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct and lead peer reviews, ensuring rigor in analysis, documentation, and verification.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior and mid‑level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion best practices in schedule management, data integrity, communication clarity, and engineering discipline.
  • Identify opportunities for organizational and technical improvement, influencing long‑term engineering strategy.

Requirements

Requirements

  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. Employment is contingent upon the applicant being a U.S. person as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3).

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience, ideally including startup or high‑growth environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise designing RF circuits in the 200 MHz to 20 GHz range.
  • Deep experience with low‑noise analog design, high‑performance signal chains, and RF system integration.
  • Proven track record designing RF PCBs with low loss, low crosstalk, and high signal integrity.
  • Experience with Altium Designer is a plus.

Skills:

  • Expert‑level understanding of analog, mixed‑signal, and RF circuit design principles.
  • Ability to architect complex electrical systems, select components, and define design requirements.
  • Proficiency with simulation tools such as SPICE for modeling and performance analysis.
  • Strong familiarity with vendor ecosystems and component selection strategies.
  • Deep knowledge of RF design concepts, PCB layout constraints, and best practices for high‑frequency systems.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own electrical system architecture and guide implementation across engineering teams.
  • Lead the design, development, analysis, documentation, and testing of products, systems, and subsystems.
  • Produce and review formal design documentation, including architecture definitions and design synthesis.
  • Perform advanced modeling and simulation of electrical and RF circuits.
  • Oversee schematic capture, BOM strategy, and lifecycle management.
  • Direct PCB layout efforts and ensure high‑quality manufacturing outputs.
  • Manage the relationship with PCB vendors and fabrication partners to ensure the build quality and manufacturability.
  • Lead root‑cause investigations and drive corrective actions for complex failures.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and oversee execution and reporting.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and technicians.

Startup Mindset:

  • You thrive in ambiguity and enjoy building processes, systems, and infrastructure from scratch.
  • You’re adaptable, resourceful, and energized by solving problems across multiple domains.
  • You embrace ownership and take initiative to move the organization forward.
