The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Principal is a unique role that will report to the Senior Manager II, Enterprise EHS to assist in supporting Donaldson’s “Life Sciences” (LS) vertical. The LS vertical is comprised of: Bioprocessing, bio-consumables, food & beverage, microelectronics, disk drive, vehicle electrification and medical devices. We are seeking a strong EHS leader to engage in supporting the Life Science team via Enterprise EHS in support of novel LS projects.
The role requires knowledge and experience with technical and regulatory EHS requirements, ability to research and gather information, good project management skills, ability to teach and guide others, an aptitude for understanding multiple types of laboratories and manufacturing equipment, and positively partner with cross-functional teams. Experience with LS and biologics is a plus but not required.
Role Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to train, coach, and guide others in a positive and effective manner.

Manages development and maintenance of training processes to ensure required EHS training is defined, addresses content accurately, and tracks the work to completion.

Analyze and respond to questions and influence others to self-source information and independently complete work effectively to minimize reliance on Enterprise EHS support.

Work cross-functionally in a diverse fast-paced matrixed reporting setting influencing and directing others to achieve overall business priorities.

Provide technical support for chemical, process design, and management of change activities.

Research complex project details, identify, and communicate EHS requirements to other team members.

Implement EHS risk assessments and perform audits; manage completion of audit findings to closure.

Ensures EHS requirements are completed timely.

Assists in post-incident review of high-consequence EHS incidents; identifies and aids in closure of corrective and preventive actions addressing root causes.

Manage end-to-end projects; identifies new opportunities and gains approval to act from all applicable customers and stakeholders on the business needs.

Participates in applicable communication with leadership as well as ground-level employees.

Ability to proactively lead and influence others absent direct lines of authority, and partner with onsite EHS, technicians, scientists, engineers, managers, and production employees.

Able to support multiple sites virtually and onsite at the Corporate headquarters.

Occasional travel: 10-15%.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree
-
Minimum 5+ years of progressive EHS experience; ideally in a manufacturing, laboratory, chemical, medical device, or R&D setting.

Strong EHS regulatory experience.

Ability to research, learn and share information with others.
-
A track-record of making a positive impact on process development reviews, technical equipment experience, and program development and implementation.

Experience with coaching, training, directing and guiding others at all levels.

Proficient with MS Office
