Why This Role
This is a unique opportunity to build and scale our presence in China, driving business development from the ground up (0→1) within one of the world’s most dynamic and complex markets. As a Principal, you will play a critical role in shaping our market entry, developing client relationships, and positioning dss+ as a trusted partner across target industries.
Your Impact
You will lead the delivery of large-scale programmes while playing a key role in business development and market growth.
Key responsibilities include:
Drive 0→1 business development in China, contributing to pipeline growth and revenue generation
Lead consulting teams and manage delivery across multiple operational excellence engagement
Build strong, long-term relationships with senior client stakeholders across China
Oversee project execution, ensuring high-quality delivery and measurable client impact
Coach and develop consulting teams, building capability and performance
Contribute to thought leadership and positioning in operations across the region

Who You Are
You bring strong analytical thinking, a commercial mindset, and the ability to lead teams and clients in complex environments.
Experience
Proven experience in management consulting with an entrepreneurial mindset and ownership of your practice line
Strong track record in business development, including building client relationships and contributing to revenue growth
Experience leading complex consulting engagements and managing teams
Understanding of operational challenges within industrial or asset-intensive sectors
Experience with the industrial sector in China eg. Chemicals, steel, manufacturing, energy etc.
Capabilities
Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability
Commercial acumen with the ability to identify and convert opportunities
Excellent problem-solving and delivery execution skills
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Education & Languages
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
Fluency in English and Mandarin is essential for this role
Mobility
Willingness to travel across China and internationally as required

Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering or Business
- MBA or Master's preferred
- Knowledge of industrial sector in China, especially Steel, Chemicals, or Energy
- Experience in management consulting firm
- 15 years of experience in transforming companies
- Fluency in English and Mandarin
