As a member of Alphawave Semi’s Custom Services Group, you will help bring to life a new generation of compute chiplets based on the latest generation of Arm’s Neoverse CPUs. These chiplets will find homes in an exciting array of applications including high-performance compute, AI inference, storage solutions, and networking infrastructure.
Principal Digital Verification / Lead Engineer
What You'll Do
- Lead team of verification engineers from Alphawave's San Jose office verifying our ARM Neoverse-based Multi-CPU SoC in an inclusive team environment
- Own and oversee the end-to-end verification flow, from verification plan creation and review to implementation and sign-off for tape-out
- Work with third-party vendors and IP suppliers to verify both compute subsystem and SoC-levels of the design
- Collaborate with the design team to develop verification requirements and define critical feature scopes.
- Develop scalable testbench components for verifying critical RTL and firmware features using UVM.
- Develop test cases to verify SoC and subsystems in ASIC RTL and FPGA environments.
- Support Emulation and FPGA teams on verification of SoC
- Perform multi-power domain, multi-voltage domain RTL and gate level simulations.
- Define VIP requirements and work with vendors for integration and support.
- Mentor junior team members.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Reporting to the VP SOC Architecture and Systems, we are looking for minimum of 15 years of ASIC design verification experience.
- Extensive experience (12+ years) in building reusable testbenches and strong debugging skills.
- Demonstrable expertise in processor-based SoC verification.
- Proficiency in UVM, System Verilog, VHDL, Verilog, C.
- Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools and methodologies for digital verification.
- Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
It Would Be Amazing If You Had
- Experience with Multi Core CPU Soc verification.
- Knowledge of verification of Arm Neoverse cores and CMN fabric.
- Understanding of peripherals and protocols including PCIe, CXL, AMBA AXI & CHI, I2C, SPI, USB, NVMe, eMMC, JTAG/SW, Ethernet.
- Hands-on experience supporting SoC bring-up in the lab, targeting different test cases, and actively debugging issues on bench setup.
- Managed DV activities across different teams at Subsystem as well as Top Level verification setup.

Salary and Benefits
Your contribution will be recognized with a base salary within the range of $225,000 to $250,000 annually as It is influenced by your qualifications, experience, location, and the internal equity of our team to ensure fairness and consistency across roles. In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, employees are also eligible for additional compensation opportunities, including a short-term incentive program, Retirement & Saving Programs and participation in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
