Our team develops software to run multimillion dollar Ion Implanters used worldwide in the manufacturing of semiconductor chips. We currently have both a legacy system infrastructure based on waterfall techniques and nascent system based on Agile and DevOps best practices that function on top of microservices we also manage. In addition, we develop tooling to improve developer productivity, field service analysis, debugging tools, performance metrics tools and intranet sites. Customer installs involve complex, multiple computer installs, so our team also manages installation software and data collection.
Looking for an opinionated developer to manage DevOps at Applied Materials Control System Software Group in Gloucester Massachusetts. The job role would offer considerable autonomy in driving architecture, systems design, and DevOps pipeline improvements to create robust builds and deployments and overarching Product Lifecycle Management infrastructure that is efficient and robust.
Our current developer stack includes mostly C++ and C# Code bases. Dashboard and microservice coordination use Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) along with SQL integrations, some Mongo and Webservices that communicate through ReST and Google Remote Procedure Calls (GRPC). Our source control uses legacy Source Gear whereas our DevOps uses Atlassian products (Jira, Bitbucket and Confluence) along with Jenkins. Web pages work is both in ASP.NET (legacy) as well as TypeScript / Bootstrap web pages communicating with backend over ReST / GRPC.
Skills Highly Sought After:

  • C# Architecture and best practices
  • DevOps / Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CICD)
  • NuGet package Creation and Consumption
  • Jenkins or other DevOps infrastructure for managing commits, builds, and testing
  • Git, especially Bitbucket and GitHub experience
  • Microsoft Web API (ReST)
  • Google Remote Procedure Call (gRPC)
  • Typescript / JavaScript and Simple web design using Bootstrap
  • Microsoft SQL Server

Nice to have Skills:

  • C++
  • Encryption / Security Best Practices
  • Python / Jupyter Notebooks
  • SourceGear or SourceSafe
  • MS Build and Visual Studio / VS Code experience

Experience

  • Somewhere between a Senior and Principal software position with more than 7 years of experience, with some portion of that time spent designing or managing in a DevOps environment

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
