As a Data Scientist at Micron, you will use data to solve complex business challenges. You will provide actionable insights for finance, sales, business units, human resources, and legal. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing AI, GenAI, and advanced analytical solutions that improve efficiency, drive revenue growth, and optimize processes.
Responsibilities:
Partner with product owners and business partners across finance, sales, business units, HR, and legal. Learn their needs and turn them into data science projects and solutions.
Design, develop, and implement predictive models, machine learning models, statistical analysis, and data mining techniques to address business challenges.
Analyze large and sophisticated datasets, identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies to extract valuable and actionable insights.
Build and deploy data visualization dashboards and reports to effectively communicate insights to business collaborators across different levels.
Research and explore new data science techniques, including generative AI and large language models, to enhance business processes and decision-making.
Contribute to data governance and infrastructure: Help maintain and improve our data infrastructure, ensuring data quality and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience & Education: Minimum 5+ years as a Data Scientist or related role; Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Analytics & Modeling Expertise: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a solid foundation in statistical modeling, data mining, and machine learning (supervised & unsupervised), including applying models to drive actionable business insights.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch), SQL, and data manipulation tools; experienced in data extraction, cleansing, outlier detection, and handling missing data across large datasets.
Platforms & Advanced AI: Experience working with large-scale data and cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), data visualization tools, and applying generative AI and large language models (LLMs) within business contexts.
Collaboration & Communication: Proven ability to combine datasets across business functions; excellent communication and presentation skills to clearly convey complex insights to non-technical collaborators.
Preferred Qualifications:
8 years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a related role.
Prior experience working in a high tech manufacturing environment.
Desire to work in a complex and fast paced environment.
