The Position
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Principal Data Engineer to join our growing team of Advance Data Analytics experts.
The Data Engineer will work closely with System and Enterprise Architects, Technical Project Managers, Product Owners, and Software Engineers on data-driven initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, implement, and optimize data architectures using AWS services and infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with existing software systems.

Work alongside software engineers and architects to design and implement data-driven features and functionalities in software products.

Synergy and collaborate closely with both engineering and business stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner to understand requirements, craft data-driven solutions. Tailor presentations to suit diverse audiences, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

To stay updated with the latest trends in Data Engineering and bring data best practices into software development, ensuring that products are built with data integrity, scalability, and efficiency in mind embodying the Roche motto: “ Doing now what patients need next.”

Analyze complex problems related to data, architect robust solutions, and lead their implementation.

Present data-driven strategies and technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, bridging the gap between business needs and technical implementation.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 10-15 years of experience.

Technical Skills:
-
Expert in AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, etc.).

Experience of Developing SAAS and Cloud applications
-
Proven track record of working with cross functional teams and ready to work with challenging situations.

Expert in SQL, Python, and data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, EMR).
-
Experience with AI and machine learning technologies.

Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
-
Good oversight of Software architecture patterns.

Proven ability to work closely with software engineers, architects, and business teams to deliver data-driven solutions.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to architect and implement solutions to complex data challenges.

Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in the Healthcare Laboratory domain is a plus.

Experience with healthcare data standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HL7, FHIR).

Experience in designing and implementing data lakes and data warehouses.

Experience in data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments.

Good to Have : Experience on GenAI and Advanced Analytics to uncover hidden patterns and insights, driving data-driven decision-making across various IVD-specific Diagnostic products.
