ERM is looking for a Principal Consultant or Consulting Director to lead technical due diligence, mineral asset valuation, and mining advisory projects across the global resources sector. This client-facing leadership role combines technical excellence, business development, and project delivery to support critical investment and transaction decisions
Technical responsibilities:
Undertake and manage Technical Due Diligence (DD) work
All types of DD with high level, fatal flaw, red flag and deep dive focuses.
Be competent in the valuation (VALMIN compliance) of mineral assets at all stages of development
Prepare Independent reports for listing documents (e.g. JORC & VALMIN compliant) for the technical assessments of mineral assets.
Have a familiarity with a broad range of commodities, deposit types, project stages, geological settings, jurisdictions, stock exchanges and listing rules regimes.
An understanding of expert witness work.
An understanding of financial system and role of auditors, impairments, ASIC and stock exchanges such as the ASX.
Assist in Mineral Resource Estimation (MRE) projects and provide critical peer review for MRE outputs and supporting the MRE team both locally and globally.
Assist the Sustainable Mining Services (SMS) teams with professional development and ethics.
Business Development:
Work on Business Development (BD) for themselves, for the MTCA team and more broadly around the local and global SMS teams
Manage winning jobs, the initiation of the work, managing the technical execution and team deliverables, and critically ensure the usual time critical deliverable is delivered on the deadline
Ensure the product is client suitable – act as the translator between the technical authors and the clients and vice versa
Take ownership of the outputs – make sure it is fit for purpose and on time
Getting the job commenced and then delivered on time.
Clients & Delivery
Be comfortable talking to both technical teams but also to senior company staff such as “C suite” board members and senior executives,
Understand the range of critical intermediaries in the MTCA environment such as banks/lenders, private equity, accountants, independent experts, regulators, lawyers, brokers and analysts,
Understand the needs and drivers of different exploration and mining company types: juniors, microcaps, mid tiers and majors,
Be comfortable in conflict situations – defending conclusions (e.g. valuation at odds with what client wants to hear)
Be good with language – write well; be able to untangle jargon and customise outputs for the right audience type: investors, non-tech board members, technical practitioners.

Chase payments and variations
Project manage –be efficient with budgets and work within the ERM management systems

Any other ad hoc duties as instructed by your line manager and/or ERM Partner.

Skills Required
