Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems has an opening for a Principal Configuration Analyst (Level 3), to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Air Systems Integration organization. This role is located in Redondo Beach, CA.
Essential Functions:
The selected candidate will perform the following, including, but not limited to:
- Support Program tasks and attend meetings.
- Maintain Configuration Management Command Media, Work Instructions and perform updates as required.
- Perform CDM metrics on a recurring basis and support Program prep meetings.
- Engineering Release activities for the F-35 Composite Structure Definition IPT. This includes Build-To-Package (BTP), Source Control Drawings (SCD), Tech Packages, Engineering Schedule Change Record (ESCR) approvals.
- Creation of the BTP, SCD, Tech packages and associated supporting engineering business items and data, BTP/SCD Lifecycle (workflow) execution, approval and formal engineering release.
- Ensuring a Fully Linked Integrated Engineering Bill-of-Material (EBOMs) on all engineering releases. This involves working in TeamCenter Enterprise and TeamCenter Unified (AeroSource) in order to maintain a valid, formally released EBOM.
- Provides assistance and support to other F-35 IPT teams requiring Configuration Management assistance.
- Requires meticulous attention to detail while maintaining control over all documents in flow.
- Collaborates and coordinates with Technical Leads in the preparation, processing, and release of engineering documentation through the release process.
- The selected candidate must be able to support audits, update procedures, and communicate effectively and clearly.
- The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
- Plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met.
- Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system.
- Coordinates modification records for management control.
- Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor.
- Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.
- Leveraging your understanding of program document tree hierarchy and Manufacturing Engineering hierarchy
- A statement of work that requires familiarity with overall Systems Engineering and Design processes
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of related military / professional experience OR a Master's degree with at least 3 years of related military / professional experience OR a Ph.D. with at least 1 year of related military / professional experience
- Must have previous experience working in a configuration/project management capacity
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret or higher clearance within a reasonable time as determined by business needs
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable time as determined by business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Lean concepts
- Experience managing change boards or performing configuration management
- Experience with Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing and Test documentation
- Knowledge of EIA-649, National Consensus Standard for Configuration Management
- An existing DoD security clearance Secret or above
- Government Contracts experience
