Job Description
This role owns the modernization of Vertex’s collaboration ecosystem, with a strong focus on SharePoint development, site lifecycle management, and enterprise operating models for collaboration services.
The individual will help define how collaboration platforms are structured, governed, and consumed, while also owning portfolio management tooling and service operations.
Our team operates with the ability to enable AI adoption safely, ensuring governance, data protection, and auditability are always maintained throughout our platforms.
This is both a hands-on technical role and a technical owner role, responsible for driving consistency, reducing sprawl, and enabling scalable, secure collaboration across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
1. SharePoint Development & Site Modernization
Lead the modernization of SharePoint site architecture, including templates, provisioning standards, and lifecycle management
Define and implement standardized site patterns for internal and external collaboration use cases
Develop or oversee SharePoint solution automation and AI integrations to reduce manual processes and improve user experience
Establish site governance controls, including ownership, permissions models, and lifecycle policies
Drive improvements to site provisioning, archiving, and compliance alignment
2. Collaboration Platform Strategy (M365)
Act as the technical owner for Microsoft 365 collaboration services, including SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, Entra ID, and Copilot
Define and execute the roadmap for collaboration services, balancing business enablement with governance and security
Partner with InfoSec and IT to ensure compliance, data protection, and audit readiness
3. Portfolio & Work Management Platform Ownership
Own the strategy, governance, and administration of Smartsheet, Asana, Planner, and Project
Define clear decision frameworks for when each platform should be used
Establish standard intake processes for new requests and initiatives
Build and manage portfolio dashboards, reporting, and backlog visibility
Ensure alignment between platform capabilities and business outcomes
4. Service Ownership & Operations
Operate as the service owner for collaboration and work management platforms
Define and manage:
Intake and demand management
Backlog prioritization
Vendor and service provider oversight (Accenture operations alignment)
Ensure strong incident, change, and release management processes
Track and improve service health metrics (adoption, stability, performance)
5. Governance, Standardization & Adoption
Establish clear governance models across platforms including provisioning, access control, and lifecycle management
Drive standardization to reduce tool sprawl and inconsistent usage
Lead enablement efforts: training, documentation, and business engagement
Promote responsible adoption of AI and automation (Copilot) across collaboration services
Ideal Candidate Profile
Deep hands-on expertise in SharePoint (development + architecture + governance)
Strong experience managing enterprise SaaS collaboration platforms (M365)
Experience defining service operating models, intake processes, and governance frameworks
Ability to balance business enablement, user experience, and risk management
Comfortable managing cross-functional stakeholders
Familiarity with AI models, integrations and features
Education & Background
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum of 6 years experience owning or leading enterprise collaboration, productivity, or work management platforms, with demonstrated progression in scope, influence, and responsibility.

Pay Range:
$144,000 - $216,000Disclosure Statement:
The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
