What you’ll be doing...
As a Principal Cloud Platform Engineer, you will perform tasks that are required to maintain and advance our cloud environment. This includes interfacing with tenants and peer support teams. Verizon is building the next generation unified, AI-driven automation platform “ATOM”. The goal is to leverage artificial intelligence to consolidate all automation and orchestration functions onto a single platform, eliminating redundancy and streamlining operations. As the Platform Engineer, you will drive innovation by leading engineering teams through complex problem-solving, feature implementation, and strategic alignment to build automation and orchestration for wireline and wireless networks.
You will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
Autonomous Operations: Using AI agents to automate network deployments, health checks, configuration audits, and service assurance.
Machine-readable Method of Procedures: Transforming static procedure documents into an executable format that AI agents can directly process and act on.
Unified Automation: Consolidating all network procedures and workflows into a single, cohesive system, making the entire network more intelligent and resilient.
Closed-Loop Service Assurance: Designing and implementing self-healing network frameworks that utilize real-time telemetry to trigger proactive remediation.
Strategic Alignment: Partnering with business stakeholders to translate complex use cases (including iEN, IP, Transport, Verizon Cloud Platform [VCP] and 5G Network Functions) into scalable platform capabilities.
Technical Leadership: Providing technical direction and driving innovation for the ATOM Platform by leading onshore and offshore development teams through complex problem-solving.
System Stability: Engaging as a subject matter expert and collaborating with quality assurance and production support teams to ensure systems operate at premium conditions.
End-to-End Development: Performing full-cycle application development—including design, coding, and testing—by leveraging AI tools to optimize delivery and performance.
