Position: Senior Cloud Developer

Previous experience: Software Development, Cloud Development

Location: Cambridge, United Kingdom – Hybrid (3 days at the office)

Employment type: Full-time regular (flexible working options available)

The job

As a Senior Cloud Developer, you’ll be an integral part of an agile team focusing on alignment and adoption of cloud technologies. You’ll use your influence to encourage our product development teams to adopt cloud-native solutions and help to drive a cloud-first mentality. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to architect, design, and implement cloud-based solutions while fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess, define and improve processes at a cross-team level.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams to ensure best practices and standards are followed.
  • Drive the adoption of cloud technologies and methodologies across the organization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable cloud solutions.
  • Promote and support upskilling initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to optimize development workflows.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud computing.
  • Conduct training sessions, workshops, and knowledge sharing sessions to enhance the technical capabilities of the team.

Ideal experience

  • Hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure as code development.
  • Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming concepts.
  • Demonstrable software development experience, such as C#.
  • Ability to influence architectural and technological adoption throughout an organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience of cloud security principles, practices, and tools.
  • Automation using scripting technologies such as PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of API development, microservices and serverless architectures.
  • Knowledge and experience of operational support, software development and deployment methodologies and principles.
  • Well-versed in concepts such as CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, Product-as-a-Service etc.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, able to convey information clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences.
