Principal Associate- Global Workforce Privacy
As a Principal Associate for Global Workforce Privacy, you will serve as an operational lead, defining and managing the end-to-end lifecycle of privacy-related requests for Capital One associates, applicants, and former employees. You will lead a dynamic process that ensures corporate initiatives and departmental procedures comply with applicable Global Privacy laws and regulations, including CCPA, GDPR, and PIPEDA, and will manage and direct the work for others who support the process. Collaborative and strategic problem-solving, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in a regulatory-driven environment are essential.
Responsibilities:
  • Define and document the fulfillment process for all applicable regulatory requirements, including global.
  • Manage the intake and fulfillment process for all workforce privacy data subject rights (DSR) requests, including access, deletion, and correction.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts on all workforce privacy requirements and the legal exceptions applicable to global jurisdictions to ensure processes maintain compliance.
  • Maintain and refine local work instructions (LWI), process flows, and FUSE risk controls to ensure seamless execution and compliance.
  • Report on privacy request metrics, including volumes, completion rates, and outcomes (denials vs. completions) for RCSA and other risk reporting.
  • Participate in and support regulatory exams and internal DE/OE testing to validate control effectiveness.
  • Maintain and update case management system (Salesforce) categories and trackers to ensure accurate data capture and reporting.
  • Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, and HR Risk teams to develop and implement new procedures for emerging data sets and regulatory changes.
  • Drive well-managed changes to systems and business processes through strategic problem-solving, and leverage technology, including AI, to enhance efficiency and deliver seamless experiences.
  • This role may directly (or indirectly) manage and direct the work of others who support the work.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification.
  • At least 3 years of experience in process, project, or equivalent combination of related experiences, including effective stakeholder management.
  • Business Process Management (BPM) certification.
  • 1+ years of experience with Google Suite products (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience.
  • Experience in audit, compliance, risk management.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) accreditation.
  • Demonstrated strong eye for detail and a growth mindset, eager to learn new processes and technologies daily and thrive on solving new problems.
  • Experience using AI and/or technology to generate creative ideas, solve problems, troubleshoot common business problems, and translate them into tangible more efficient work products.
  • 3+ years of experience with Google Suite products (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Richmond, VA: $98,900 - $112,900 for Principal HR Associate
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
