Within TCOO, the Fraud and Claims Technology team is seeking a Principal Architect. The ideal candidate will design the target state architecture across multiple areas to provide common decisioning and business process management solutions which advance fraud detection and claims processing products. This position reports directly to the Head of Architecture and Technology Strategy for Fraud & Claims Management. In this role, you will consult with both business and technology executives to help set technical direction, provide ongoing architectural support and direction for multiple technical efforts across several agile squads and work to develop an ever-evolving target architecture for the Fraud business.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the implementation of complex projects and initiatives that have companywide scope
- Assist in the creation of architectural artifacts for key technology initiatives
- Participate in the definition of future technology architecture and strategy
- Identify medium to high architectural impact projects
- Conduct complex technology and system assessments for architecture solutions
- Communicate the companywide Architecture strategy and direction to both management and systems related teams
- Make decisions in the development and maintenance of solution architecture
- Understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported areas
- Ensure applications adhere to established Wells Fargo standards, policies, methodologies and industry best practices
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Proficient in multi-tenant platforms and abstraction frameworks that accelerate the delivery of business functionality to end users and process automation.
- Drive efforts to ensure resiliency, fault tolerance, and performance of Fraud Operations Technology.
- 7+ years of Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of experience creating strategy, architectural design and planning experience for enterprise grade products or a large portfolio
- 2+ years of prototyping and architecting agentic solutions for rules-based workflows and/or data analysis relying upon combinations of generative and predictive models
- Experience with any of the following technology categories: Gen AI, business rules/decision support engines, BPM solutions, case management, open-source data processing frameworks, threat intelligence platforms, real-time analytics, data lakehouses or meshes
- Strong executive presence, facilitation skills, drive for results, attention to quality and detail, and a synergetic attitude
- Ability to develop and deliver effective, well-articulated, written, and oral communications (e.g., emails, presentation materials) applying appropriate level of content/ detail dependent upon audience and intent
- Excellent communications, interpersonal, and presentations skills across technical and non-technical groups
- Knowledge and expertise of fraud management tools and techniques
- Experience in one or a combination of the following: systems, applications, or architecture planning
- Knowledge and understanding of applications technology management role including managing applications development and support for multiple systems and business functions
- Experience with a customer service mindset and a focus on continuous improvement
- Experience consulting, influencing and partnering with business executives, leadership, and product management teams
- Knowledge and understanding of fraud, risk, and/or cybersecurity is a plus
- Financial services industry experience
- Experience with OpenShift Container Platform or other cloud computing technologies
- Extensive technical skills and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of an entire line of business or infrastructure sub-domain
- Experience motivating and influencing groups or individuals across organizational boundaries to gain trust and confidence to make timely decisions
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities with a focus on proactive solutions
- Experience with Agile transformations
- Knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Change Management procedures and tools
- Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening
- This position offers a hybrid work schedule

- Pay Range Iselin, New Jersey: $191,000k-305,000k
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
