The RoleWe are currently seeking a full-time, highly professional, career-oriented engineer to join our monarch Platform applications team.Platform Application Engineers are responsible for supporting the design and implementation of complex monarch architecture on active and incoming customer projects. This requires working closely with project teams to understand system requirements and use cases. Success in this role requires becoming the subject matter expert in monarch Platform principles and collaborating with the SMEs of other product areas that use the shared system platform.
Candidates must possess knowledge of information systems with at least an introduction to ‘C’ programming. Basic knowledge of utility SCADA operations and data management is preferred.Your Impact
- Work with OSI engineers and developers to determine proper system configuration and design via SME ticket system in JIRA.
- Create and maintain internal documentation to assist engineers of all levels in configuring and troubleshooting systems.
- Identify ongoing or emerging problem areas of platform design, documentation, or implementation.
- Train OSI engineers, 3rd party implementers, and customers on platform configuration and best practices.
- In some scenarios – assist on staged or live customer systems to troubleshoot a single issue (via KVM, CSOC Bomgar, VPN, etc.).
- Maintaining a central repository and knowledge base of Web Platform and Platform Server principles. Leveraging this information to provide recommendations and guidance to customers, project teams, and 3rd party implementers.
- Increase and maintain knowledge of messaging, networking, security best practices, MongoDB, NGINX, load balancing, etc.
- Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of Project Engineering experience.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability and flexibility to travel to domestic and international customer sites.
- Ability to work independently, effectively manage time, and prioritize strategically.
- Knowledge of MongoDB, NGINX, NATS messaging , Multispeak standard preferred.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL preferred.
