An experienced Principal Applications Engineer specializing in High Voltage (650V/700V) GaN power devices and power conversion applications.
Responsible for supporting customer designs, developing reference solutions, validating products, and driving application adoption of Renesas High Voltage GaN solutions across industrial, infrastructure, server power, UPS, solar, and EV power applications in Taiwan.
Application Development & Customer Support
- Support customer design-in activities for High Voltage GaN products.
- Provide application-level support for:
- AC-DC power supplies
- Totem-Pole PFC
- LLC converters
- DC-DC converters
- UPS systems
- Solar inverters
- Server and industrial power systems
- Review customer schematics, layouts, and power architectures.
Reference Design Development
- Develop and validate High Voltage GaN evaluation boards and reference designs.
- Perform efficiency, thermal, EMI, and performance optimization.
- Generate application data to support customer adoption.
Product Validation
- Work with Product Engineering teams to execute validation plans.
- Characterize switching performance, thermal behavior, gate driving, and system performance.
- Support root-cause analysis of customer and field issues.
Technical Customer Engagement
- Support key customers in Taiwan throughout design, prototype, validation, and production phases.
- Troubleshoot application issues and provide recommendations for design optimization.
- Deliver customer demonstrations, training, and technical presentations.

- Reference Design Documentation
- Contribute technical content supporting sales and marketing activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales, FAEs, Product Engineering, and R&D teams.
- Provide customer feedback to support future product roadmap planning.
· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
· Master and Ph.D degree preferred.
· 8-12 years of experience in power electronics and power conversion applications.
· Experience in one or more of:
- High Voltage GaN
- SiC Power Systems
- Server Power Supplies
- UPS
- Solar Inverters
- EV Charging
- Industrial Power Supplies
· Hands-on experience with:
- AC-DC power conversion
