Genesys is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Integrations team. The associate will play a crucial role in analyzing, consulting, designing, and implementing large complex integration solutions across various business systems using AWS services. This position requires a deep understanding of AWS architecture and services, technical acumen, and the ability to manage large complex projects and providing consulting and coaching for employees/teams in their technical area.
Job Responsibilities:
Design and Develop Integrations:

Architect and implement real-time and batch integrations using AWS services such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SNS, SQS, and others.

Ensure integrations are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
Technical Leadership:
-
Consult and provide technical leadership on issues within the technical domain, bringing a technical point of view to business problems.

Lead a team of developers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.

Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
Project Management:
-
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Manage project timelines, deliverables, and ensure successful project completion.
Performance Optimization:
-
Monitor and optimize the performance of integrations.
-
Implement best practices for performance tuning and resource optimization.
Documentation and Training:
-
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for integrations and processes.

Train team members and other stakeholders on the use and maintenance of integrations.
Required Skills:
AWS Expertise:

Extensive experience with AWS services, particularly API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, SNS, and other related services.

Strong understanding of AWS architecture and best practices.
Programming Skills:
-
Proficiency in Java and experience with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot or Quarkus.

Knowledge of other programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is a plus.
Integration Experience:

Proven experience in designing and implementing real-time and batch integrations.

Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and event-driven design.
Leadership and Communication:

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
DevOps and CI/CD:

Experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation.
Security Best Practices:

Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.

Experience with implementing security measures and compliance standards.
Agile Methodologies:

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools like Jira
Database Management:

Experience with database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and data warehousing solutions.
Continuous Learning:

Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.

Proven experience in designing and implementing integration solutions using AWS services.

Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns and best practices.
