Job Title: Principal - Software Engineering
The Purpose of Your Role
As a Principal Software engineer in Asset Management - Money Market Trading area you will be applying your strong software engineering practices (implementation and validation) to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve Fidelity customer-facing software solutions.
We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer with expertise and experience in designing and developing applications including new developments, enhancements, maintenance and support. This will involve continuous collaboration with partners, iterative understanding of requirements, following Fidelity best practices / methodologies, thorough understanding of the technology roadmap, advancement to design / development process.

- Collaborate with team members on improving team's test coverage, release velocity and production health

- Use your experience and knowledge to influence better software design, promote best software engineering practices, defensive coding strategies, testability and security
- Pro-active consulting in the definition phase about the non-functional requirements and its financial implications.
- Provide technology alternatives to business problems and clearly explain the advantages, problems and side-effects of alternatives.
- Ensure operability of technical architecture by partnering with the Enterprise Architects, project teams and taking responsibility for the technical design dispensations
- Manage technology obsolescence of the product and aligning to enterprise directives
- Identifying opportunities to bring emerging technologies/solutions to deliver innovative solutions to meet business objectives.
The Skills that are Key to this role
- You are Proficient in Angular and UI technologies – building complex enterprise UI systems and micro-front ends
- You have very good knowledge of technologies like Java, Spring Boot, REST, myBatis/Hibernate, Oracle SQL, Git, Maven/Jenkins
- You have experience in the definition of application architecture.
- You have experience in designing and developing complex applications.
- You have experience working in cloud native applications, preferably AWS
- Understands and applies fundamental design principles behind a scalable, low latency, high throughput distributed application
- Champions best practices for various aspects of engineering excellence like CICD, design reviews, code reviews, unit testing, test automation across technology stack
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
