Data & AI Engineers at NCR Atleos experience working at one of the largest and most recognized financial companies in the world, while being part of a software development team responsible for next generation technologies and solutions. Our engineers design and build large scale data storage, computation and distribution systems. They partner with data and AI experts to deliver high quality AI solutions and derived data to our consumers.

POSTION SUMMARY & KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

As a Principal AI Engineer, you will be joining a Data & AI team transforming our global financial network and improving the quality of our products and services we provide to our customers. This team will leverage cutting edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms to develop solutions for our automated document processing and customer service chat bots. In this role, you are expected to

• Have full stack expertise to build the best fit solutions leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI with focus on privacy, security, fairness, and responsible AI practices.
• Build extensible API Integrations with short cycle times, to extract information from sources, integrate with LLMs, receive insights, and make them available through intuitive UI.
• Have demonstrated experience in developing applications utilizing AI agents, enhancing decision-making and multi-step reasoning.
• Possess proven expertise in designing and implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks, particularly agent-based RAG, integrating intelligent agents with dynamic retrieval systems.
• Envision the solution outcomes to solve for the business problem with actionable insights and design viable solutions to meet the outcomes.
• Design, develop, and deploy AIOps solutions, including automating IT operations with AI and machine learning for enhanced performance monitoring, anomaly detection, root cause analysis, and predictive maintenance.
• Develop and maintain AI pipelines, including data preprocessing, feature extraction, model training, and evaluation.
• Develop clear and concise documentation, including technical specifications, and code ready templates, to communicate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Establish best practices and standards for generative AI development within the organization.
• Focus on speed to market and getting products and services in the hands of our stakeholders and passion to transform financial industry is key to the success of this role. This requires maintaining a positive and collaborative working relationship with teams within the NCR Atleos technology organization, as well as with wider business.
• Have a track record of creating innovative AI solutions, showcasing a deep understanding of cutting-edge AI technologies and creative problem-solving skills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Master's degree preferred.
• Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in AI and Machine Learning, with a proven track record in developing and deploying AI solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in developing applications utilizing AI agents and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks.
• Ability to build extensible API integrations and work with RESTful services.
• Experience in designing, developing, and deploying AIOps solutions.
• Must have strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
• Experience with designing scalable software systems for classification, text extraction/summary, data connectors for different formats (pdf, csv, doc, etc)
• Solid experience developing and implementing Generative AI like transformers, LLM’s, text embedding’s and with strong understanding of deep learning techniques like GPTs.
• Experience with deep learning techniques as well as natural language processing (NLP) techniques and tools, such as SpaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face, LangChain and/or Llama Index.
• Experience with information storage/retrieval using vector databases like Azure AI Search, Chroma, Pinecone.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Expertise in using AI/ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with cloud-based platforms and services, such Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience with Agile development concepts and related tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative AI solutions.
• Excellent written and strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
• Passion for learning with a proactive mindset, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and focus on speed to market.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Skills in Azure OpenAI models, Integrated UI design with AI Apps using Vercel AI SDK, etc.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field preferred
• Practical knowledge or hands-on experience in implementing Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
• Advanced proficiency in developing applications using graph technologies .
