Required

• A minimum of 7 years' progressive experience in mechanical/MEP engineering, with direct hands-on liquid cooling deployment experience.
• Direct, hands-on experience with direct-to-chip and rear-door liquid cooling systems at data center scale — CDUs, coolant distribution, manifolds.
• Experience sizing and validating cooling systems for high-density (60–150 kW/rack and beyond) environments.
• The ability to read, review, and red-line liquid-cooling schematics and designs and be right — not just conversant.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred

• NVIDIA AI Factory / rack-scale platform experience (GB200, GB300, NVL72-class).
• Experience with CFD thermal modeling, power-system studies, and staged capacity analysis.
• DCD Cooling Professional (Uptime Institute), NVIDIA NCA-AIIO, or manufacturer CDU / direct-liquid-cooling training.
• Experience qualifying and overseeing liquid-cooling trade partners and CDU manufacturers.

Leadership & Interpersonal

• Strong systems-level thinking: connects rack-level heat load to the full facility thermal chain.
• Ability to communicate technical risk clearly to both engineering partners and executive stakeholders.
• Collaborative working style with the Principal MEP Advisor, delivery partners, and OEMs.

Travel: Up to 50%, including international.

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $150,000.00 to $225,000.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

What is the Facilities, Infrastructure & Technology (FIT) practice and why join?

Within WWT's Technical Delivery & Engineering organization, FIT is our newest advisory capability, built at the intersection of the physical and digital data center. As AI factories push facilities beyond traditional limits — liquid-cooled racks exceeding 100kW, gigawatt-scale campuses, compressed construction timelines — our clients need advisors fluent in both the building and the architecture it must serve. This role is the practice's second technical seat on the design and assurance side, working alongside the Principal MEP Advisor & Design Authority, and focused specifically on the scarcest skill in the market: liquid cooling.

Position Overview

The Principal Advisor, Liquid Cooling & MEP Systems brings deep, hands-on technical expertise in direct-to-chip and rear-door liquid cooling — CDUs, coolant distribution, manifolds, and controls integration — to WWT's AI Factory engagements. This is a technical advisory role, not a self-perform or engineer-of-record role: you review and advise on liquid-cooling architecture, evaluate partner and OEM deliverables for soundness, and size cooling systems against real AI-density heat loads, working in close partnership with the Principal MEP Advisor and the practice's delivery partners. This role is accountable for:

• Reviewing and advising on liquid-cooling architecture — CDUs, coolant distribution, manifolds, and controls — across client and partner MEP designs, flagging risks and gaps before they reach the field.
• Sizing and validating facility water and heat-rejection strategy against rack-level heat load for AI-density deployments.
• Evaluating partner and OEM liquid-cooling deliverables — CDU commissioning, coolant chemistry, flow balancing, leak detection — for technical soundness.

You will work directly alongside the Principal MEP Advisor & Design Authority, extending the practice's technical bench on the one skill set every AI Factory build depends on and the fewest people in the market can credibly deliver.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide deep technical expertise on direct-to-chip and rear-door liquid cooling systems across client and partner MEP designs.
• Advise on PUE/WUE efficiency targets at AI density and how those targets are proven during commissioning.
• Maintain currency with NVIDIA rack-scale platforms (GB200/GB300/NVL72-class) and the liquid-cooling OEM ecosystem.
• Contribute to survey standards, deliverable templates, and training materials specific to liquid cooling as the practice scales.
• Qualify and provide technical oversight of liquid-cooling trade partners and CDU manufacturers.
