Position OverviewThe Principal Analyst, Accounting is responsible for accounting, planning, reporting, and analysis of assigned business activity for the company. The Principal Analyst, Accounting provides guidance on GAAP compliant accounting and controls for assigned areas and provides support to business partner leadership in budget development and management, and leads department-wide processes and projects.
Job DescriptionDescription
- Optimize department wide processes, identify improvements, drive the development, design and implementation of changes for assigned work area(s). This includes optimizing and automating excel files, determining optimal approach in collaboration with team members and business partners, and communicating and training of department personnel and business partners on systems solutions and process changes.
- Partner with IT team to define requirements and lead for IT system changes, updates, and new software rollouts. This includes developing project plans, providing status updates to finance leadership, and ensuring all necessary blueprinting, testing, and training is completed.
- Lead the development of new and ad-hoc trending on assigned areas, providing reporting to upper management and internal business partner leadership to aid in decision making.
- Lead new business integration and M&A related projects for the department, acting as the department representative & subject matter expert.
- Develop annual budgets and forecast updates in assigned areas, provide insights and analysis to enable development of goals.

Skills
- Specialized Knowledge : Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP. Budget and financial modeling knowledge; Experience with financial systems and software (e.g. GL package, Financial reporting system) preferred

- 7-10 : Minimum of seven years of finance/accounting experience, including in-depth understanding of key accounting principles and financial trending techniques. Some project management exposure/training.
