Job Description
Job Purpose (Job Summary):
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Principal Scrum Master with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) certification to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience and a proven track record of successfully leading agile teams and driving large-scale agile transformations in the financial services industry.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Agile Leadership: Lead and mentor multiple Scrum teams, ensuring adherence to agile principles and practices.
- SAFe Implementation: Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of SAFe practices across the organization.
- Facilitation: Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Collaboration: Foster a culture of collaboration and communication between cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
- Coaching: Provide coaching and guidance to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and team members to enhance their agile capabilities.
- Performance Metrics: Track and report on key performance metrics to ensure teams are delivering value and meeting objectives.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks and impediments that may impact the successful delivery of projects.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging experimentation, learning, and adaptation.
Work Experience / Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies and frameworks, including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Formal Education:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Certification: SAFe certification (e.g., SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master) is required.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust, and temperatures.
- The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 10 pounds is also necessary.
- Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment.
- Hours may include evenings and/or weekends and may include 24 hour a day on call support by pager and/or cell phone.
