About the role:
We are looking for someone to build out Vercel’s Pricing Strategy function, reporting to the VP of Strategy and Insights. You will be an internal subject matter expert tasked with improving our pricing model, better aligning price to value, and reducing complexity for our customers. You will work closely with our engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to accomplish these goals.
This is a remote position which preferences candidate location aligned with San Francisco or Pacific US time zone.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with PMs, Engineers, and Execs to build packaging and price models for each new or repackaged SKU
- Triangulate appropriate price structures and price points with
- Primary research, including customer interviews and Van Westendorp surveys
- Financial modeling and data analysis
- Internal stakeholder interviews
- Competitive research
- Collaborate on organization-wide projects, such as an effort to repackage Vercel’s core “Developer Experience” offerings
- Build financial impact models to illustrate the revenue and margin impacts of different price structures and price levels
- Identify and execute on ways to simplify our price structure
- Work with go-to-market teams to iterate on ideal “Enterprise Bundles”
- Build & maintain customer-facing pricing assets like ROI calculators or price guides
About you:
- You understand pricing for SaaS and Infrastructure companies better than almost anyone on earth
- You are deeply analytical and able to pull insights from qualitative and quantitative sources
- You have spent years working in pricing or monetization at one of the leading consultancies (such as Simon Kucher Partners) or for growing technology companies
- You have a proven track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder pricing projects to success
- You have at least a bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Mathematics, or other quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience)

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is [$164,000.00 - $246,000.00]. This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
