Pricing Specialist I
The Pricing Specialist I provides support to the sales group through the quoting process that consists of compiling technical information from different sources to generate a quote for data center warranty services. Primary function is to configure, price, assess, and cost-load quote proposals. Expected to manage multiple requests, have a high level of attention to detail, problem solve and use critical thinking while interacting with other departments internally to quote completion.
What you’ll be doing:
- Independently generate well-developed, accurate, and clearly formatted quote proposals.
- Meets department quote volume and quality standards while adhering to quote turnaround expectations and reprioritizing without direction.
- Researches information such as list pricing, current contract pricing, equipment specifications and configurations, profit and loss analysis, previous discounting structures, and unsupported equipment. As well as international pricing and SLA changes and/or requirements.
- Input accurate and up-to-date records on pricing and quotes, including rationale for pricing decisions and discounts such as exception documentation.
- Elementary understanding of IT equipment, data center configurations, as well as how components interact with each other in order to accurately price.
- Interprets equipment scripts to extract configuration data for various product types or models.
- Attend meetings and keep current on all impacts to job and team.
- Works with Enterprise Sales Operations, Presales, Product Management, Sales, Finance, Operations, etc. to achieve company and departmental goals.
- Ad-hoc analysis
- Position may be assigned a specialization such as relationship type (channel or direct) and/or revenue type (new or renewals).
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, conditional formatting, advanced formulas).
- Possess numbers acumen. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, and percentages.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Looks beyond the obvious and doesn’t stop at first answers. Outside the box thinker who looks for creative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written. Ability to read and interpret documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ability to work long hours or over standard when required.
Bonus Points:
- 1+ years of pricing-related experience (Finance, Statistics, Accounting, Database Management, Reporting).
- Prior sales support experience.
- Familiarity with the data center hardware industry.
- Knowledge and experience in reading, understanding and formulating responses to pricing quote requests and RFP's.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.

- Up to 5%
