This role sits within the Commercial Banking Strategy team and is ideal for a commercially minded professional looking to leverage their experience in commercial banking, lending, pricing, profitability analysis, and relationship management in a strategic leadership capacity.

The successful candidate will partner closely with Commercial Banking leaders, Relationship Managers, Credit teams, and Technology partners to support commercial loan pricing strategies, optimize profitability, and enhance pricing tools that support revenue growth and client acquisition. Through data-driven insights and strategic recommendations, this role contributes to key business decisions that balance growth objectives, client needs, and risk considerations.

This is a highly visible opportunity to influence strategic initiatives, work closely with senior leaders, and help shape the future direction of commercial pricing and profitability management across the business.

Researches, defines, aligns, develops, and implements sales and marketing strategies with P&L (profit and loss) accountability to enable the sales force to effectively sell, fulfill, and service new and existing individual or portfolio of banking products and improve the customer experience. Carries out market research, forecasting, pricing, and competitive analysis, monitors product and system performance, and assesses problems to develop and implement solutions. Manages product risks in compliance with legal, regulatory, and risk compliance, and reporting. Collaborates with internal partners across the enterprise to take products to market.


Role Focus

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with Relationship Managers, Credit, Risk, Product, and Technology teams to support pricing strategies and develop competitive client solutions.
  • Analyze portfolio, client, market, and profitability data to identify trends, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
  • Support the development and enhancement of pricing tools, analytics, reporting, and business cases that drive growth and risk-adjusted returns.
  • Influence business decisions through data-driven insights, executive-level communication, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead and support strategic initiatives from concept through implementation, including change management, sales enablement, process improvement, and performance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to identify opportunities that improve client experience, portfolio profitability, operational efficiency, and overall business performance.
  • Develop recommendations that support commercial business growth while balancing profitability, customer outcomes, and risk management objectives.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working within Commercial Banking, Business Banking, Commercial Lending, Equipment Finance, Commercial Real Estate Lending, or similar financial services environments.
  • Knowledge of commercial credit structures, pricing methodologies, portfolio profitability, and lending economics.
  • Experience supporting lending decisions, pricing initiatives, relationship management activities, or commercial credit transactions.
  • Strong understanding of commercial banking products and services, including lending and treasury management solutions.
  • Experience partnering with frontline sales teams and business stakeholders to achieve strategic and financial objectives.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-management capabilities

Qualifications:

  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in Business or a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong experience with consumer / commercial credit applicable to retail and business financing products.
  • Strong experience working with retail and business product fundamentals, including product design, functionality, and related policies and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of product delivery infrastructure systems and underlying product interdependencies.
  • In-depth retail and business banking environmental awareness / understanding.
  • In-depth risk management associated with new and existing product development and management.
  • Strong knowledge of process coordination and management.
  • Strong knowledge of banking product management and associated industry and regulatory requirements.

$85,500.00 - $185,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
