The Opportunity
The position of Pricing & Rebates Specialist works out of our Mississauga, Ontario location in the Abbott Vascular Division which provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease.
What You’ll Do
Support the sales force of Abbott Vascular Division and might be responsible for OneAbbott agreements, involving other Abbott Cardiovascular Divisions. The candidate ensures that all pricing and rebate guidelines are followed and that correct customer contracted prices and rebate conditions are inputted into the Abbott Vascular ERP system (SAP). The candidate works closely with departments to ensure prices are accurate and implemented on a timely manner. It is also the candidate’s responsibility to guarantee rebates are managed effectively. This includes timely rebate calculations, accrual adjustments and payments, setup and extension of rebates. Provides analytical and strategic support to the sales team in accordance with Abbott Vascular pricing guidelines and business strategies. Collaborate with the commercial teams on various initiatives such as product launch, capital deals. Support ad hoc analysis requests.
MAIN TASKS
- Ensures and maintains prices in SAP for all approved contracts and agreements with Abbott Vascular customers.
- Identifies and resolves price discrepancies by interacting with various stakeholders primarily key account managers, Contracts department and customers.
- Provides input & advice on proposed pricing / rebate contracts and agreements.
- Enforces pricing and rebate policies and procedures to maintain consistency and compliance.
- Investigate and release price discrepancies on hold in SAP.
- Ensures and maintains list prices for all Abbott Vascular products provided by the Marketing Team.
- Ensures and maintains rebates in SAP and / or related system for all approved agreements to document rebate contracts and transactions.
- Calculate rebates on a timely basis in accordance with customer’s signed agreements.
- Conduct quarterly rebate reviews with sales management and Contracts department to validate the accuracy and reasonableness of accruals, highlight contract or compliance issues, identify revenue opportunities, payments due, etc.
- Provide quarterly rebate review summaries, highlight action items.
- Liaise with key stakeholders to communicate key information, pricing discrepancies etc.
- Provide information as required during the RFP process and agreement drafting.
- Maintain all contracts and agreements that support pricing and rebate conditions in the internal shared folders.
- Respond to internal and external customer requests.
Education/Experience/Competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years
- Excellent written and verbal skills in English. French will be considered an asset.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Ensuring accuracy in pricing and rebate calculations, and maintaining precise records.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with ERP (SAP) for managing pricing and rebate data.
- Understanding of financial principles, including cost analysis, profit margins, and rebate accounting.
- Ability to identify issues in pricing and rebate processes and develop effective solutions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Understanding of the medical device market, including competitor pricing and market trends
