Position Summary
Analyzes customer shipment data to develop competitive and profitable pricing programs. Supports sales initiatives by balancing profitable pricing strategies with market share growth through detailed data analysis.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
- Analyzes and projects profitability of new and existing accounts using the Total Cost of Goods model and other tools.
- Develops pricing models that address customer needs while incorporating current and forecasted market conditions.
- Manages yield improvement initiatives for assigned account executives, ensuring timely execution in line with yield management goals.
- Evaluates requests for proposals, bids, and customer requirements to create pricing programs that align with company guidelines.
- Balances customer needs with product demand to optimize revenue, market share, and profit margins.
- Communicates and negotiates pricing-related matters with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborates with senior management to address and resolve pricing issues.
- Examines large datasets to guide the development of pricing strategies.
- Models pricing adjustments to predict their impact on organizational performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of pricing experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the Total Cost of Goods model.
- Knowledge of National Motor Freight Classification guidelines.
