Job Title: Pricing Manager – Big & Bulky Logistics (3PL)
Location: Perth Amboy, NJ
Base Salary: $70,000 - $110,000 (Depending on Experience)
The Pricing Manager – Big & Bulky Logistics will lead the pricing strategy, analysis, and development of rate structures for our oversized and heavy freight services across warehousing, transportation, and last-mile delivery. This role will serve as a cross-functional partner to Sales, Operations, and Finance to create scalable, competitive, and profitable pricing models that align with both customer requirements and market conditions. The Pricing Manager will also play a key role in shaping how we go to market for complex 3PL projects, including ecommerce, retail, and wholesale clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and Own Pricing Models:
Build and manage pricing frameworks for all Big & Bulky services, including inbound/outbound transportation (LTL, FTL, last mile), warehousing, white glove delivery, and handling of oversized goods.Lead Strategic Bid Support & RFPs:
Serve as the pricing lead for all major customer proposals and bids, partnering with Sales and Operations to tailor rate structures and support client negotiations.Conduct Market & Competitive Research:
Benchmark industry pricing trends, competitor offerings, and regional cost factors to ensure competitiveness and margin optimization.Collaborate Across Teams:
Partner with warehouse and transportation leaders to gather accurate cost inputs and operational data. Work with Sales and BD to create pricing strategies that support growth targets.Analyze Performance & Profitability:
Evaluate post-launch pricing performance, including quote vs actual margins, and recommend improvements. Identify underperforming SKUs, clients, or lanes.Standardize & Optimize Tools:
Maintain pricing templates, margin calculators, and SOPs to ensure consistency across the organization. Support pricing automation and system integration where possible.Support Product Development:
Contribute to the design of new logistics solutions (e.g., returns management, white glove assembly, special project handling) from a cost and pricing perspective.
3+ years in pricing, finance, or solutions roles within a 3PL, transportation, or warehousing environment.
Strong experience with Big & Bulky freight, oversized item logistics, or white glove delivery preferred.
Advanced Excel modeling skills; Power BI or SQL experience is a plus.
Deep understanding of warehouse and transportation cost drivers (e.g., handling complexity, cubic vs weight-based pricing, delivery windows).
Ability to balance analytical accuracy with business speed—strong commercial acumen.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
Familiarity with WMS, TMS, or ERP systems used in logistics environments.
Experience supporting ecommerce, furniture/appliances, or home delivery networks.
Prior exposure to zone-based pricing, fuel surcharges, accessorials, and routing strategies.
Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth 3PL environments. We
