Worthington Enterprises is seeking a student intern to assist with purchasing functions. The Purchasing Intern supports the Purchasing Department by placing purchase orders, working with vendors on confirming orders, working with plant personnel on any order discrepancies, and completing miscellaneous projects as needed. The student intern will gain experience in procurement for the cylinders manufacturing industry, and will learn about one of the world’s leading pressure cylinder manufacturers. This role will be full time during the summer and part time during the school year

Candidates must be willing to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. 

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and distribute the Weekly Sourcing Update: Compile and analyze data from various sources to create a comprehensive report on sourcing activities. Ensure the report is accurate, up-to-date, and distributed to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Handle trade confirmations efficiently: Verify and confirm trade details with counterparties. Ensure all trade confirmations are accurate and promptly addressed to avoid discrepancies.
  • Reconcile trade sheets with JDE for accuracy: Compare and reconcile trade sheets with the Derivatives Management system in JDE to ensure all trades are accurately recorded. Identify and resolve any discrepancies to maintain data integrity.
  • Undertake various projects as needed: Manage and execute special projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success. 
  • Place purchase orders as needed
  •  Maintain accurate delivery information for p/o’s in our ERP system
  •  Research any p/o or invoice discrepancies
  •  Work with suppliers to expedite orders as needed
  •  Complete vendor returns 
  •  Follow all departmental procedures for placing p/o’s
  •  Generate and maintain reports as needed
  •  Complete other miscellaneous project

  •  Business, Finance, Accounting majors preferred
