Summary:

Under the supervision of the HCBS program Supervisor, the prevocational Coordinator will provide supervision, assistance and training to the prevocational program participants. Ensure implementation and coordination of the individual pre-vocational plan and responsibility for the delivery of quality services.

  • Reports directly to the HCBS program Supervisor.
  • Provides supervision, assistance, and training to the participants.
  • Ensures participants satisfaction with the pre-vocational services.
  • Maintains communication log daily and assigns tasks to participants.
  • Schedules and conducts required fire drills and safety requirements.
  • Responsible for the security of the building. Opens and closes the store daily.
  • Maintains on going communication with the program participant’s families and/or providers.
  • Assist program participants in developing marketing tools and strategies for the El camino cafe.
  • Completes daily notes and monthly summaries for each participant.
  • Tracks attendance of program participants and submits payroll reports bi-weekly to Finance.
  • Responsible to ensure the program meets State and Federal standards.
  • Attends life plans meetings for all participants when scheduled.
  • Based on the life plan outcome, responsible for developing and implementing Pre-Voc Plans for each participant.
  • Completes and submits monthly or weekly billings for OPWDD, Finance and Supervisor.
  • Ensures the pre-vocational plans are followed.
  • Submits work orders as needed.
  • Reports and completes notables as necessary.
  • Completes monthly grocery shopping for the store.
  • Schedules and conduct monthly participant meetings.
  • Maintains all participants’ files up to date per requirements.
  • Attends all training courses and obtains certifications as required for the position.
  • Assit El camino café supervisor as a backup level 1 certification.
  • Greeting customers with a smile, take orders, and prepare a variety of hot and cold coffee drinks and pastries.
  • Maintain a clean and organized coffee bar, ensuring quality and presentation.
  • Open the cafe each morning, prepping equipment, brewing coffee, and stocking supplies when necessary.
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Authority:

This position exercises considerable initiative and independence in setting goals, accomplishing activities and completing consumer outcomes. Under the general supervision of the HCBS Program Supervisor, the Prevocational Coordinator will maintain a professional and responsible work environment for the program.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Associate’s degree in Human Services OR
  • 2 years’ Experience working with community human service providers and working with Developmentally Disabled population.
  • Current NY State Driver’s License.
  • Retail and marketing experience.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • A combination of training and experience other than the specified, if judged to be adequate for the job, may be accepted by the President and CEO

Physical Demands:

The position does require occasional standing, squatting, lifting of up to approximately 40 lbs.
