The Role

Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products, is seeking qualified candidates to fill a Press Operator position at their Prescott Valley facility located in Prescott Valley, AZ.
Qualified candidates should have experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Pay: $22.83 - $28.55 per hour depending on experience

Additional night shift premium of $2.50 per hour for hours worked between 7pm to 7am.

Schedule: 3rd shift availability.

  • must be flexible to work five 8-hour shifts, or a 12-hour 3/2 schedule, depending on work volume.
  • current 3rd shift hours: 11pm to 7am (Sunday-Friday am)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare raw material rolls for printing
  • Place rolls in machine and prepare for splicing
  • Assist in removing rolls from rewind
  • Remove and weigh startup rolls at beginning of job
  • Fill and maintain viscosity of all inks
  • Change Doctor Blades and over fill pans
  • Daily housekeeping
  • Remove and weigh waste from unwind and rewind
  • Empty refuse containers
  • Make waste bales when baler is full
  • Assist operator in any way for efficient operation
  • Assist operator in monitoring quality
  • Prepare Pre-Set up of sleeves, mandrels, anilox, and inks
  • Keep machine parts clean
  • Accurately document and record information
  • Maintain performance numbers while producing good quality product
  • Facilitate press make-ready, run and wash-up
  • Effectively troubleshoot print quality, register and technical specification issues
  • Set up and operating the press in an effective and efficient manner
  • Monitor equipment and the printing process to ensure quality and adherence to food safety standards
  • Demonstrates timely and effective problem solving skills
  • Provides data to Prism in support of the manufacturing, sales, and materials information systems
  • Demonstrates effective interaction skills to support team activities related to effective process decisions and goals
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform quality control tests to ensure customer specifications
  • Ensures that finished product is produced according to customer specifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Long term objectives to fulfill operator position
  • At least 1 year of experience operating a machine is preferred
