This is a senior leadership appointment and will take management responsibility for the development and growth of Honeywell businesses in ASEAN region, spanning diversified lines of business including:
- IA – Industrial Automation
- PA – Process Automation
- BA – Building Automation
- PT – Process Technology
This role will interact with all of Regional & Global SBG/SBU leaders as well as ‘C’ level customers, suppliers and relevant government officials.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This role is responsible for overall growth of the company in the region year on year. The key expectation from this role is to work closely with the Regional/Country business leaders of the four businesses and develop and execute the strategic plan that will drive growth. The person does not run day-to-day operations of the businesses but will get involved on exception basis as needed.
- Be deeply involved in strategic pursuits. Strategic pursuits may include large deals or deals with significant strategic importance e.g. Digital and Connected deals.
- Own and grow business from key strategic accounts.
- Build relationship with C-level executives in customer account and be the One Honeywell face in the country.
- Develop and nurture key talent in the region. Work together with functions and businesses in the region to ensure succession planning is in place. He/she must be a strong team builder and leader who is capable of attracting, recruiting and developing local talent and drive inclusion & talent engagement.
- Drive acquisition synergies , have on oversight success of all M&As.
- Serve as a senior representative for Honeywell in the country to advocate and evangelize the overall corporate mission and goals with multiple constituents particularly government and public agencies. He/she is expected to continuously enhance the company’s image and reputation, and improve its marketplace position. In short, build Honeywell’s brand as a supplier and employer of choice.
- Own and represent company’s activities internally with the senior management team to raise investment for the business in the country
- As a senior leader will drive teamwork initiatives and “best practice” values and vision throughout the organization.
FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCE
Strategic: The successful candidate needs to have a clear insight into market opportunities and be able to prioritize business investment and commercial development. He / she needs to understand the long term competitive environment and define where and how Honeywell will play. Must have in depth experience with the country market/culture, but also competent in navigating with an international business perspective with proven experience/exposure.
Operational: Needs to create a strong platform which facilitates growth covering organic growth, M&A, customer relationships and commercialization strategies (e.g. new customers, product development, pricing, etc). Strong strategy, visionary profile, but equally strong at operational level – this is not just “ambassadorial” role, it is involved in the execution of the strategy and roll-out of strategic corporate initiatives (growth or operational excellence initiatives). Need to be able to roll up their sleeves, conduct regular Honeywell Internal reviews and direct engagement with the team, partners and customers to ensure growth targets are achieved.
Organizational: Build a strong and cohesive leadership team and maintain a high caliber ‘united’ leadership group and Honeywell culture. Strong talent development focus - ability to identify and develop talent, ability to build strong and independent teams, ability to create a collaborative culture where individuals complement each other to make a highly effective team. Strong focus on succession. The candidate will be responsible for hiring and development of future and existing key roles across all of Honeywell’s businesses in country. Will be the accountable leader to drive a consistent atmosphere of integrity and compliance in all things, at all times. Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity across a global, matrixed organization. Creates order, prioritization and clarity of purpose. Knows how to balance long-term and short-term thinking.
Establish the appropriate organization structure and processes which anticipates and analyzes market dynamics to align with customer needs. Mature, sharp and confident leader, must be able to build effective relationships and partner / influence senior internal (Honeywell SBG Presidents, regional Business and Functional leaders, etc) as well as possess a proven track record of relationships and examples of utilizing his/her network for successful business outcomes with external (c-level clients, government and local officials) stake holders.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Minimum Bachelor's Degree. MBA or Master’s degree would be ideal.
20+ years with focus on strategy deployment, operations, business management or program management experience in leadership positions in similar line of business .
30%-50% travel across ASEAN countries.
