Job Description
The Ecosystem Presales Engineer will be responsible for managing all aspects of the technical solution in the Presales phase of complex projects. As an architect of our proposals, this responsibility involves development, design, evaluation, and modification of system solutions and architecture to meet customer requirements. In addition, this engineer has to be knowledgeable about all stages of the project implementation - starting from scope definition until the final close-out.
The team concentrates on the following mission-critical communications technologies at various levels of complexity:
Public Safety grade mobile/portable voice and data networks, Advanced Mobile devices, Public Safety mobile broadband networks and devices (LTE), Integrated Command and Control, 9-1-1 Dispatch Consoles, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Intelligence Led Public Safety, Real time video, and data analytics.
Responsibilities:
Defining directions and requirements to ensure timely implementation of a quality technical solution
Providing engineering services to our customers as a trusted advisor
Hosting system-level technical presentations for internal/external customers
Preparing system bids, taking into account the customer's needs and the equipment available
Operating with internal and external stakeholders to meet customer's delivery requirements
Being very knowledgeable on LMR and Ecosystem product solutions and integration
Mentor junior and new Presales Engineers
Radio Coverage design and analysis
Work closely with the Sales Team to deliver customer driven, world class, leading edge, end-to-end solutions that rise to the challenges of first responder, government (State & Local) agencies
End-to-end solution design adhering to requested due dates
Equipment list generation for LMR and Ecosystem solutions
Description of system design, including diagrams and Calculation of power and IP networking requirements
Participation in proposal reviews and contract negotiations
Consultative guidance to customers and sales team
Coordinate with the various functional teams (Systems Integration, Service, Sales, Product Groups) to ensure all business unit goals are addressed in our proposals and win-strategies
Development of the implementation approach and service plan necessary to win the project
Meet/exceed customer requirements and provide value alternatives when requirements cannot be met
Drive all sole source & RFP (Request for Proposal) projects to completion, managing the schedules of each project team member (engineering, proposal specialist, sales, and service)
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Sales, Engineering, Solutions Architecture
4+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Sales, Engineering, Solutions Architecture
Strong general knowledge of wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures - both public and private (e.g. APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 3G/4G) highly desirable
Strong general knowledge of IP networking architecture, protocols and security highly desirable
Knowledge of RF coverage predictions, traffic/capacity modeling, and related toolsets an asset
Location/Travel:
Must be willing to travel up to 25-30% of the time
Target Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 USD
