The Pre-Sales Engineer will provide technical direction in support of sales activities. This person is a customer-focused technical professional who provides high-level presales support and guidance to customers and collaborates with Sales Executives to recommend and develop appropriate customer solution offerings. The Pre-Sales Engineer acts in a consultative fashion and is looked to as an expert in his/her field by the account team and customers. The Pre-Sales Engineer will be one of the key technical points of contact for the sales organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and strong business sense as well as the ability to clearly communicate and present to clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- This is a consultative pre-sales role where you will be working with the sales teams to present and demonstrate advanced product features and benefits and future product direction to customers and partners
- Conduct detailed customer requirements gathering, discovery and analysis
- Create and maintain customer facing demonstrations leveraging our products
- Refine and research technical requirements of the opportunity
- Propose and design technical solutions which include creative prototypes and proof of concept
- Act as an interface between the Sales organization and technical staff for product management and development
- Work closely with ABBYY Product Teams on customer requirements and new product direction
- Work closely with customers in the architectural design and implementation/integration of ABBYY products
- Deliver workshops to customers remotely or in person
- Promote new and innovative approaches to addressing business challenges and problems
- Promote best practices for the implementation of ABBYY products
- Maintain a broad level of knowledge of industry trends and how ABBYY products add value
- Set and manage expectations with senior stakeholders and team members
- Respond to technical, security and functionality related RFP questions
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Job Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent major
- Experience in a B2B environment in a Sales Engineer role in information technology and software design
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to a variety of external audiences, including being able to interact with senior executives
- Exceptional written communication. This role requires an ability to understand and articulate both the business benefits (value proposition) and technical advantages of ABBYY products and solutions
- Demonstrated ability to make and take responsibility for decisions on major technical issues
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
- The ability to collaborate extensively within a team environment
- Experience managing complex projects - must have ability to take charge of projects and drive results
- Resilience and ability to manage stressful situations effectively while managing several tasks
- Technical knowledge of current SaaS offerings and AI technologies in the marketplace
- Competence with testing, API calls, scripting, and data mapping tools and procedures
Location:
- East Coast, US. Flexible for a qualified candidate. No relocation assistance is available for this role.
Travel:
- This position requires up to 20% travel.
Salary Range:
- The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $80,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
