Preformulation and biopharmacy lead scientist
POSITION PURPOSE
We are seeking an experienced pharmaceutical lead scientist to strengthen our Preformulation and Biopharmacy team. Your focus will be on describing and understanding degradation mechanisms, supporting early stages of drug product development by analytical characterization (impurities, assays, content uniformity and so on). In this role you will act as a scientific leader of a team of scientists and laboratory staff.
WHAT THE JOB IS ABOUT / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
- Scientific leadership of a team focusing on stress tests, compatibility studies, description of degradation pathways and analysis of early development prototypes
- Drive development of scientific competencies
- Work collaboratively with other R&D teams and project team members
- Support early formulation experiments and decision making towards successful and effective drug product development
- Identify impurities, determine the active substance content and content uniformity
- Develop liquid chromatography methods and characterize products using other analytical techniques
- Contribute to product development through active participation
- Evaluate, interpret and present data and results
- Plan and conduct experiments together with the team
WHAT WILL YOU NEED / QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS
- Education: MSc or PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy or relevant scientific field
- At least five years of experience working in pharmaceutical R&D, experience as a team leader is of advantage
- Strong and demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences and technologies, organic as well as analytical chemistry is required
- Analytical thinking, result orientation, structured way of working
- Respect, Teamwork, Professionalism, Enthusiasm, Courage
- Ability to work in cross-cultural teams, ability to work independently and to make educated decisions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good command of English is a must as you will join international team
- Computer proficiency - data analysis
