Job Overview:

Job Summary**
The Pre Tripper is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment before operation to ensure safety and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities**
* Perform comprehensive pre-trip inspections of commercial vehicles, including trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment, according to established checklists and procedures.
* Verify the proper functioning of all vehicle components, such as brakes, lights, tires, steering, fluid levels, and safety equipment.
* Identify and report any defects, damages, or maintenance issues discovered during inspections to the appropriate personnel.
* Complete and maintain accurate inspection reports and logs in a timely manner.
* Ensure all required permits, licenses, and documentation are present and valid in the vehicle.
* Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as DOT regulations.
* Assist with minor repairs or adjustments as needed and authorized.
* Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, and maintenance staff regarding vehicle status.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Job Qualifications**
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred but not always required depending on specific vehicle types.
* Proven experience in pre-trip inspections of commercial vehicles or heavy equipment, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle safety standards.
* Ability to identify and troubleshoot common vehicle mechanical issues.
* Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods in various weather conditions.
