Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Pre-Press Coordinator to join our publishing team. This role plays a vital part in bringing meaningful content to life—from concept to print—by ensuring all materials are prepared with precision, accuracy, and excellence.

The ideal candidate has a passion for publishing, a strong technical foundation in prepress production, and a heart for supporting a mission-driven organization.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare and deliver print-ready files for both traditional printing and Print-on-Demand (POD) production
  • Review and process job tickets, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely completion
  • Manage corrections for book reprints, ensuring all updates align with editorial and printer specifications
  • Coordinate proofing processes, including soft and hard proofs, ensuring color accuracy and final approvals
  • Collaborate closely with designers, editors, and production teams to streamline workflows and improve processes
  • Perform light graphic design updates to book covers and interior layouts while maintaining brand consistency
  • Manage digital assets, including archiving, file packaging, and ensuring proper formatting, fonts, and image standards (CMYK)
  • Stay current with publishing technologies and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and innovation
QualificationsWhat You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Arts, Publishing, Journalism, or related field—or equivalent experience
  • 1–3 years of experience in publishing, graphic design, or prepress production
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), Microsoft Word, and Mac OS file management
  • Understanding of 4-color printing processes and prepress requirements
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • A willingness to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
