About the role:

Lumafield is looking for a creative, versatile, and self-directed candidate to manage Lumafield’s relationships with the press, with science and technology influencers, and with our social media audiences.


You’ll start with a big advantage: technical audiences love our scans. By using our imagery to tell interesting stories, we’ve seen our scans become viral sensations that attract millions of views on everything from counterfeit AirPods to Stanley Quencher cups. They regularly hit the front pages of Reddit and Hacker News and have even earned more than two million views on TikTok.


We’ve also developed important relationships with journalists and content creators at outlets like the Financial Times, Fast Company, The Verge, and Adam Savage’s Tested. They’ve all shown that industrial CT scans can be a powerful tool for serious journalism.


In this role, you’ll work closely with teammates in marketing and across the company to develop new ideas for social media campaigns and press collaborations, create and maintain our social media calendar, and find new ways to help our audience learn about the power of industrial CT.

What you'll do:

  • Initiate, develop, and maintain relationships with collaborators in both new and traditional media channels–everyone from investigative journalists at blue-chip publications to technology influencers on Instagram
  • Develop new content ideas for distribution both through Lumafield’s channels and through partnerships
  • Collaborate with the rest of the marketing team to execute a social media and PR plan that aligns with product launches, company events, and news opportunities
  • Build social and PR content from scratch by scanning lots of interesting products and creating lots of great CT scan images (it’s not hard; we’ll get you trained)

About you:

  • Previous experience in social media management and/or public relations management
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Proficiency with basic design and media production (e.g., Photoshop, Figma, Premiere). Note that you’ll be able to work with our in-house video producer and visual designer, but we’re looking for someone who can participate fully in the development process.
  • Curiosity about technical (sometimes arcane) subjects and ability to learn quickly
