The Role:  

As the Senior Account Director in the Consumer PR team, you will be responsible for leading and managing key client accounts, ensuring the seamless execution of impactful PR campaigns that build brand reputation and drive client objectives. Acting as the primary client contact, you will oversee strategic planning, campaign execution, and team management, all while fostering trusted, long-term client and agency relationships. Your role will involve defining campaign goals, refining strategic messaging, and working closely with media, creative, and strategy teams to achieve client success and deliver measurable, impactful results. 

 

Leveraging your extensive PR expertise, you will guide the team through complex client needs, securing high-quality media engagement and delivering influencer strategies that enhances client visibility and brand equity. This role spans clients in gaming, retail and technology, working on some of the agencies most exciting, important campaigns. 

 

You will also play an essential role in agency growth through active participation in new business development, using your insights to craft PR solutions that attract and retain high-profile clients. With a strategic, hands-on approach, you will contribute to dentsu’s reputation as a leader in public relations, communications and stakeholder engagement to consistently driving excellence in PR outcomes and client satisfaction. 

 

This role will have line management responsibility, as well as involvement in the PR SLT.  

 

Other responsibilities include: 

 

  • Develop and foster strong relationships with clients and support senior leadership to drive and deliver the client’s PR strategy. 

  • Develop fully integrated client solutions by identifying and understanding your clients’ needs and anticipating and resolving problems. 

  • Oversee the development of plans, proposals, reports, creative briefs, and other communication deliverables. 

  • Work with the wider creative agency on delivering high-impact, innovative PR campaigns for our clients. 

  • Complete oversight of campaign budgets and effective resource allocation, to exceed client and campaign objectives to drive revenue and maximising profitability. 

  • Champion agency values and actively contribute to business decisions and company success. 

  • Manage and mentor the team, nurturing talent, and keeping the team on track and on deadline.  

 

A bit about you: 

  • Strong experience in an integrated agency environment with broad experience covering influencer and earned media management. 

  • Exemplifies expert writing, shaping brand narratives with precision and insight, with excellent taste in attention-grabbing ideas. 

  • A strategic all-rounder who thrives on delivering outstanding strategic and creative recommendations to clients. 

  • Anticipate the needs of the client, actively listen and ask the right questions at the right time to extract insight that will help inform the brief or unlock an idea. 

  • Possess an innate understanding of what makes news and are switched on to the evolving social media and digital landscape. 

  • Experience leading a team with strong negotiation and delegation skills. 

  • Skilfully manage PR budgets and deliver accurate financial reports and ensure that optimisations are made through commercial awareness and negotiation skills to maximise both revenue and profitability. 

  • Don't mind rolling up your sleeves and getting the job done - no task is too big or small. 

  • Preferred experience in gaming and/or tech.
