Responsibilities
- Support account teams with day-to-day assignments as needed. During the program, interns will learn from a variety of projects and assignments, including:
- Monitoring news and social media for topics / trends and competitor news
- Conducting media audits and competitor research
- Learning how to build and update media lists
- Clipping/archiving articles in print and online
- Joining client calls or internal team meetings as applicable
- Developing skills in drafting pitches, media alerts and client bios
- Attending company brainstorms
- Observing and attending client events
Program Details
- Interns will learn fundamental communications skills through weekly trainings, including bi-weekly training sessions where one JAE/AE will present on a fundamental PR / social media skill, including: building comprehensive media lists, writing high-quality pitches + follow-up, networking best practices, tips for staffing events, producing attractive mailers, researching competitors and media trends and developing your resume + interview tips.
- Interns will learn about the communications industry and SSM&L through bi-weekly discussions with AMs or ADs, including (topics will change pending employee availability): talent integration, partnerships, crisis, social media, creative, music, film, events (conferences, press events, etc.), startups + technology, sports, culinary + food and lifestyle.
- At the end of the program, interns will complete a group project focused on developing a strategic campaign for a current client. The campaign will be presented to all who can attend and feedback will be given afterwards.
- As often as possible, interns will be offered the opportunity to attend fun events in each location. These outings will not be required if after work hours.
