We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Engineering Data Management Specialist to become part of the Airbus Defence and Space Romania, Bucharest team - for the role of Project Portfolio Management Systems & Data Analyst role.
Areas of impact: Portfolio management, scheduling, engineering KPI reporting, interactive dashboards, delivery management, requirements database administration, technical documentation processes.
Responsibilities:
System Administration & User Support- Assist the Lead Administrator in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting our Planisware Unified Planning platform.
- Serve as a point of contact for end-users, addressing their needs, and system navigation questions.
- Maintain data integrity across Portfolios schedules, resource allocations, and cost baselines.
- Help conduct user training and update documentation/SOPs as new features are deployed.
- Design, build, and maintain interactive performance dashboards in Google Data Studio.
- Extract and clean data from Planisware and secondary databases to generate automated periodic reports (weekly status, resource utilization, portfolio health).
- Build advanced Excel / Google Sheets models, utilizing pivot tables, formulas, and VBA/Google Apps Script macros to streamline manual reporting tasks.
- Translate complex project management data into clear visual formats for PMO leadership and executive stakeholders.
- We currently switch our monthly reporting from Google Data studio to SAP Analytics Cloud. For adhoc visualisation we’ll continue using Google.
Requirements:
Skills- Proficiency in Google Data Studio (or similar BI tools like Power BI / Tableau)
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Array Formulas)
- Hands-on experience writing Macros (VBA or Google Apps Script) to automate repetitive data workflows.
- Domain Knowledge: Foundational understanding of Project Management fundamentals (WBS, Gantt charts, milestones, resource planning, Agile/Waterfall concepts).
- Experience with Planisware Enterprise or Planisware Orchestra (or similar PPM tools like Clarity, MS Project Online, Smartsheet).
- Experience working within or alongside a Project Management Office (PMO).
- Experience with SAP Analytic Cloud is a plus
- Proactive attitude to anticipate risks and raise concerns in advance
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- Fluency in English is mandatory
