Job Description: Continuous Improvement Business System Specialist III (PPI)
Position Summary and Key Responsibilities:
Position Summary
The role involves working with collaborators to implement the PPI Business System, improve systems, and eliminate waste at the workstream level to enable efficiencies, intensify customer experience and increase employee engagement. The position works colleagues to build a strong partnership and set an example by through structured problem solving and training to improve systems and processes by developing skills with the facilitation of Lean fundamentals tools, such as process mapping, kaizen, root cause analysis, gemba, stand up meeting and project funnel coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead/work with functional teams to streamline processes to improve the customer experience, enable growth, colleague retention, and become more efficient
- Develop a culture that drives continuous improvement in critical metrics for customer, finance, people, and quality
- Provide support to develop problem-solving capability within the organization at all levels
- Train, mentor, and follow up with teams to ensure system improvements are sustained and the collaborators are running the processes independently
- Work closely with site PPI steering committee to identify ways to accelerate the culture change necessary to support the PPI Business System
- Provide ongoing support to teams deploying rapid responder teams on the floor to drive countermeasures
- Help teams identify new projects through value stream mapping, data analysis, and daily management systems, among other Lean Tools
- Work together with the PPI Network to build, promote, standardize, and exchange standard methodologies and success cases
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, operations, business, or equivalent experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and positively influence leadership and all levels of the organization
- A complete problem solver who can assess the entire site with comprehensive end to end view to integrate and streamline systems for efficient benefit
- Able to drive continuous improvement in both non-operational and operational areas, including connecting the cross-functional resources to remove waste along the extended value streams
- Passion for driving improvement and leading change
- Consistent track record for developing, training, and mentoring teams
- Great communicator, including solid written, oral, and presentation-giving skills
- Broad knowledge of multi-functional processes and financial business methods
- High ethical standards to support a professional business code of conduct
- Creative problem-solving skills, organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership roles from fields like operations, commercial, engineering, quality, or product management
- A Lean Practitioner with 3+ years of experience and a ‘hands-on’ track record of implementing successful TPS fundamentals including elements such as: visual management/5S, value stream mapping, standard work, metric boards, stand-up meetings, gemba, process mapping and project funnel coordination
- Proficiency in problem-solving applying a formal program/process
